Livin' Through The Lenz: Photo-Journaling Pilot Program

Updated: Apr 29, 2025

We're excited to announce the launch of our Photo-Journaling Pilot Program at Livin' Through The Lenz! Designed specifically for Black and Brown breast cancer survivors, this program offers a unique opportunity to explore healing through the arts while documenting personal journeys. The five-week program, which began on October 3rd, is being conducted via Zoom, providing a safe and creative space for survivors to reflect and grow from the comfort of their homes.

Each week, participants engage in activities using imagery and written reflection to process their experiences, rediscover their strengths, and build resilience. Sessions are built around meaningful themes like "Finding Your Voice Through Imagery," "Creating a Visual Legacy," and "Sharing and Reflecting," empowering survivors to express their journeys creatively. This dual approach of visual and written expression fosters emotional healing and helps participants gain a deeper understanding of their personal stories.

Through these sessions, participants are discovering new ways to cope with their experiences, build confidence, and connect with a supportive community of fellow survivors. The program is already fostering incredible growth and creativity, and we're excited to witness how it continues to impact their lives.

At Livin' Through The Lenz, we believe in the transformative power of the visual and written arts to foster healing, especially for those facing life-changing challenges like breast cancer. Stay tuned for updates on the program's progress and inspiring stories from our amazing participants!
