Livin' Through the Lenz is a nonprofit organization founded in November 2022 by Delores King, a three-time breast cancer survivor. After enduring the physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges of cancer, Delores discovered the powerful role photography plays in healing. Behind the lens, she found a way to process her experiences, reclaim her story, and reconnect with her strength. Inspired by her journey, she launched Livin' Through the Lenz to provide that same pathway to other survivors.
Built on the belief that healing goes beyond survival, Livin' Through the Lenz uses photography-based therapy to help Black and Brown breast cancer survivors express themselves, find emotional support, and build community. Our work addresses Black and Brown survivors' challenges in treatment, recovery, confidence, and emotional well-being.
About Us
Our Mission
To ensure that every woman, regardless of race or economic background, receives the support and resources she deserves during and after treatment.

Vision
We envision a safe, supportive space for black and brown women's breast cancer survivors to share their stories without fear of judgment. Through creative expression and community, we foster healing, empowerment, and resilience on their journeys.

Values
Compassionate Courage. We stand with our community with heartfelt compassion, creating an environment where sharing personal stories becomes a source of strength. Courage is facing challenges, embracing vulnerability, and lifting each other through shared experiences.
Healing. We foster healing through the transformative power of art and self-expression. By providing opportunities for reflection and creative exploration, we support survivors as they reclaim their strength and build resilience, one photograph at a time.
Innovation. We are committed to advancing new pathways for breast cancer survivorship by combining compassion with strength. Through innovative approaches like photo-based therapy, we offer meaningful support that addresses disparities in care, empowering Black and Brown women to find hope and healing in their journey.
